With the State Archives Basel-Stadt and the Natural History Museum Basel set to share a new building in 2028, EM2N developed the overall architectural design. Within this transition, Unbound Trajectories contributed spatial scenarios and service design concepts for the State Archive Basel-Stadt, including the reading room and library, the “archive window” and the building plans archive.

The project anticipated future use practices and the interplay between the new building, on-site services and online access. It supported the development of a coherent service design strategy for physical and digital access points, while also strengthening the institutional identity of the State Archives within a shared space and a broader public context.
